What is this?

Here you will find an interactive gallery where you can pick the system temperature \(T\) and magnetic field strength \(H\) of the \(q\)-Potts model for different values of \(q\), which is the number of states available to a lattice site.

Over our 2022 Christmas break Mikey Whelan, Luke Hodgkiss and I independently studied Prof. Tong's Part III notes on statistical field theory. I found the concept of criticality interesting so I proposed to study in more detail the behaviour of the Potts model and came up with this fun way of presenting the topic. (Visuals take a moment to load.)
